Jack
and Jill History
Jack
and Jill's first stage debut together was in The Miss Melbourne Drag Competition
in 2004.
There
rendition of Lady Bump (Kath and Kim) was a crowd pleaser,
and
helped Jillette to win the Best up and Coming crown for the year.
Shortly
afterwards Jack and Jill were joined
by
Hillary
Hoist,
becoming
‘The
Newbags’
–
a
popular,
but
short
lived
trio, who aim was to make people laugh.
The
Newbags, much like The Jack and Jill Show, was aimed at making people laugh and
have a good time.

In
Jan 2005, Jack and Jill teamed up with the Showbags for The Madonna
show.
The
Madonna show was one of the biggest Drag productions Melbourne had seen,
featuring
5 Madonna's, 44 costumes, plus a lighting spectaular from Arman.

After
the huge success of the Madonna show, Jack and Jill were keen to produce there
own show,
and
later that year they formed The
Manly
Sisters with Melbourne Drag Performer Kris del Vayze.
Kris
brought much experience to the troupe, a seasoned dancer and drag
performer.
The
Manly Sisters worked regularly around Melbourne for the coming 2 years,
producing
a number of shows including
Battered Broadway - Three Girls, One Dream and every Wig for herself!

2006
was the year of The Sound of Music - Drag Show. Winning a coveted Rainbow
award for Best Drag Show
and
breaking the record for the longest running Drag Production in
Melbourne.
The
Sound of Music Drag Show, a Showbags and Manly Sister production
was
just what the doctor ordered, with people booking weeks in advance to see the
show.

This
was followed up with Grease The Drag show, plus a new name as Showbags
and
Manly Sisters combined to become "Drags
Aloud".

Drags
aloud continued the success of the Manly Sisters and Showbags,
with
seasons at the Melbourne International Comedy
Festival and
the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival in Scotland during 2007.
In
Late 2007, Jack and Jill and Drags Aloud parted ways with both parties keen to
pursue new challenges.
After
returning from Edinburgh, Jack and Jill formed The
Jack and Jill Drag Show,
and
can be seen on stage together each Friday
night at Templebar
Precinct in Collingwood.
